The Rangers are recalling Zac Jones from the taxi squad.

Jones has become one of the Rangers' top prospects since he was drafted in the third round of the 2019 NHL Draft. He currently is tied for fourth among AHL defensemen in assists (13) and is tied for fifth in points (17).

Jones was called up to the Blueshirts last season and notched four assists in 10 games played after he helped UMass win the 2020-21 National Championship.

Last year in college, he scored the second-most goals among NCAA defensemen (nine), while his 24 points were the third most.

The Rangers also called up forward Tim Gettinger, who has eight goals and eight assists with Hartford this year. The 2016 fifth-rounder has played in eight professional games across three seasons with the Rangers.
