Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin is scheduled to start on Thursday against the Philadelphia Flyers in his first game back since suffering a groin injury on March 4.
He left the win against the Devils late in the third period after suffering a non-contact injury while facing an odd-man rush. The Rangers have gone 6-4 during his absence, with goalies Alexandar
Georgiev and Keith Kinkaid getting time in the net.
Shesterkin is 6-7-1 this season over 15 starts with a 92.1 save percentage and a 2.31 goals against average. The 25-year-old went 10-2 as the starter during his first season in the NHL in 2019-20, saving 93.2 percent of the shots against him.
The Rangers are currently 14-13-4 with 32 points, 14 points back of the East Division-leading Islanders.
