Rangers HC David Quinn, 3 assistants will miss both games vs. Caps originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

The New York Rangers will be short-staffed for both Friday and Saturday's games against the Washington Capitals.

Rangers head coach David Quinn, along with assistants Jacques Martin, David Oliver and Greg Brown will miss both of New York's games versus Washington this weekend due to COVID-19 protocols, the NHL announced on Thursday.

All four coaches were not in attendance on Wednesday, a 9-0 Rangers victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.

On the bright side for the Rangers, forward Pavel Buchnevich returned on Wednesday from the COVID-19 list and immediately made an impact, notching four points (two goals, two assists) in the lopsided victory.

This weekend will mark the third and fourth time the Rangers and Capitals have faced off this season. New York has won both of the previous matchups.
