'Rangers have to beat Celtic if they are to win title'

The game after an international break always has the potential to be a sticky one. However, Rangers handled things well on Saturday, and took care of Hibs at Ibrox.

The 3-1 result flattered Hibs to a degree - they offered very little outwith their goal, which is unlike them given the talent they have at the top end of the pitch.

From a Rangers perspective, it was a decent performance. It was very controlled for the most part and it showed the character the team has. To score quickly after Scott Wright’s disallowed goal and then to hit back almost immediately after Hibs' equaliser.

As I said last week, it was good to get minutes in the legs of those who are returning from injury: Todd Cantwell, Dujon Sterling and Abdallah Sima in particular.

Next week is the big one and I think if Rangers have any real aspirations of winning the title, they have to beat Celtic on Sunday, even with the game in hand.

Philippe Clement is big on creating a winning mentality, and the time to show that is Sunday.

Obviously the middle of the park will be important but the top end of the pitch for us is where we need to be on it.

In my opinion, Sima should start and if Cyriel Dessers starts ahead of Kemar Roofe and Fabio Silva, you have to hope he can put in the kind of performance that helps the team, even if he doesn’t find the net.

The nerves are very real for this one. Let’s hope Rangers manage to get the three points.
