Ran Carthon screened Tennessee Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk's call before taking GM job

Count new Tennessee Titans general manager Ran Carthon among the many who don't like answering calls from phone numbers they don't recognize.

The Titans hired Carthon away from the San Francisco 49ers to be their next GM on Wednesday. In a video the Titans posted on Twitter, Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk called Carthon and ribbed him about not picking up on the first dial.

Carthon responded he was on the phone with his brother, saw a call coming in from a Houston area code, suspected it could be Strunk calling but chose not to answer because he didn't "want to get stuck talking to someone I don’t want to talk to.”

Strunk laughed at Carthon's honesty and then offered him the general manager job, which he accepted by saying he'd love to have the position. He then admitted Strunk "got (his) heart beating" and Strunk said hers was too.
