Rams activate Natrez Patrick from practice squad for Week 2

The NFL tweaked practice squad and roster rules this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, allowing teams to not only carry extra players on the practice squad, but also call two up per week before game day.

The Los Angeles Rams have exercised that option this week and have brought up linebacker Natrez Patrick from the practice squad. He’s now on the 53-man roster, but the Rams will have to decide on Sunday whether to make him active against the Eagles.

Patrick adds depth at inside and outside linebacker possessing the ability to play both positions. He may not get much playing time even if he is active on Sunday, considering Jachai Polite was ahead of him on the depth chart and only played one snap.

Patrick was an undrafted free agent out of Georgia last year and wound up making the Rams’ 53-man roster as a rookie.
