The Warriors erased a three-run deficit to tie Friday's Evergreen Conference softball contest, but they didn't have one last complete rally in them in an 8-6 heartbreak versus the Bobcats at home.

Aberdeen broke the tie with a four-run seventh that put it in firm control, only for Rochester to attempt another comeback. Three straight base hits, the last from Mckenna Vassar, plated a run to make it 8-5. A sacrifice fly from Layna Demers made it a two-run game and the Warriors brought the tying run to the plate.

Leah Hartley grounded out to end the game and bid for a conference win. Rochester (2-3, 0-1 EvCo) scored the first run of the night on an error, then Aberdeen woke up with two runs apiece in the second and third frames.

Sara Haury led the Warriors with three hits, two of them for extra bases, and an RBI. Demers fired 12 strikeouts in the circle, but gave up 11 hits and five walks. Still, of the eight runs they gave up, just two were charged to the right-hander.
