Will rain postpone NASCAR race at Texas again Monday? More wet weather is on the way

For live updates from the track at Texas Motor Speedway, we have you covered here.

NASCAR will be ready to race in Texas on Monday, but Mother Nature could have other plans. The forecast in Fort Worth calls for rain the next three days.

As of Monday morning, the track was soaked before the start of the race, delaying the postponed event. Although the wet weather was a drizzle Monday morning, rain is in the forecast through Wednesday. According to the local weather radars, there won’t be much of a dry window Monday, but AccuWeather.com projects some lightening around 1 p.m.

The National Weather Service projects a 90% chance of precipitation through Monday evening.

That means NASCAR’s playoff race, the Autotrader Echopark Automotive 500, could get pushed to Tuesday, when rain is still likely. The forecast shows a 60 percent chance of rain Tuesday, but more dry openings.

NASCAR completed 52 laps of its Cup Series playoff race and at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday before the red flag came out for a wet track due to heavy mist. The sanctioning body will attempt to find a window to complete the 334-lap race this week before its second-to-last Cup race at Martinsville on Sunday.

The race at Texas would be official on Lap 167.
