Is Raiders WR Nelson Agholor a must-start in fantasy this week?

To the surprise of everyone around the NFL, Nelson Agholor has revitalized his career in Las Vegas. He’s suddenly become one of the team’s most important offensive players, especially when you consider the injuries to Henry Ruggs III and Bryan Edwards.

Agholor has become especially important over the last three weeks, catching 11 passes for 218 yards and three touchdowns. However, does that mean he should be in your fantasy football lineups?

In a recent article by ESPN’s 32 beat writers, Paul Gutierrez expressed caution about trusting Agholor in your lineup this week. Take a look at Gutierrez’s thoughts about the veteran receiver heading into Cleveland in Week 8:

“Agholor has been a revelation of sorts, and his production — four of his first 12 catches were TDs — has been nothing short of phenomenal. But late in the loss to Tampa Bay, Agholor’s case of the dropsies, which plagued him in Philadelphia, returned, one of which turned into an interception. Plus, with the imminent return of rookie Bryan Edwards and first-round speedster Henry Ruggs growing into the offense, Agholor should become more of a “change-of-pace” pass-catcher.”

With the weather expected to be a problem on Sunday, don’t look for the Raiders to take many shots down the field. Instead, look for Derek Carr and the Raiders to utilize the short passing game along with a ton of rushing attempts to win this game. Week 8 isn’t the week to trust Nelson Agholor to win you your fantasy matchup.
