Raiders waive former Bills QB Nathan Peterman

The Las Vegas Raiders have moved on from former Buffalo Bills quarterback Nathan Peterman, for now.

Via the NFL’s transaction wire this week, Peterman was waived by the Raiders.

In a reminder, this is actually the first time Las Vegas has let Peterman go since he joined them following his release from the Bills.

Previously he was re-signed after his contract had expired, but Las Vegas never terminated his deal like Buffalo did after his struggles.

Peterman was always well liked by former Raiders head coach Jon Gruden, who is no longer with the club.

But Raiders Wire reports that might not be the end of Peterman in Las Vegas. If he clears waivers, it’s expected that Peterman will be added back via the practice squad.

Peterman would essentially be the Jake Fromm and Davis Webb of the Raiders if that happens.

On their active roster, Las Vegas now only has two active quarterbacks (Derek Carr, Marcus Mariota), much like the Bills do with Josh Allen and Mitchell Trubisky.

Fromm and Webb are the No. 3 and 4 QBs, of sorts, but from the practice squad in Buffalo. Peterman would hold that role in Vegas.
