Raiders release FB Jakob Johnson on Friday

With Dave Ziegler and Josh McDaniels gone, the new front office of the Raiders continues to revamp the roster. Earlier this week, they released defensive lineman Isaac Rochell in a surprising move. And they made another shocking move on Friday.

According to his Twitter/X account, the Raiders have released starting fullback Jakob Johnson. The Raiders signed Johnson during the 2021 offseason and he has since appeared in 25 games with the team.

The Raiders do not currently have a fullback on the roster and this might signal a philosophy shift in their offense. It is possible that we see more receivers on the field moving forward, which better suits their roster anyway. We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
