All Daniel Carlson does is make clutch kicks. He did it again on Sunday night, drilling a 47-yarder to get the Las Vegas Raiders into the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

It was his fifth game-winning field goal this season, which is the most in the NFL. Carlson continues to show that he is one of the best kickers in the league and he keeps racking up the NFL honors.

On Wednesday, the NFL announced that Daniel Carlson won the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against the Chargers. It was his second-straight week in which he won the award and the fourth time this season he has taken home the honor.

Not only did Carlson make the game-winning kick, but he also connected on all five of his field-goal attempts in that game. During the 2021-2022 season, Carlson made 40 of his 43 attempts with his longest being from 56 yards.

But despite being a four-time AFC Special Teams Player of the Week, Carlson was not named a Pro Bowl player for the 2021 season. Instead, that honor went to Justin Tucker. However, he could still wind up being an All-Pro selection for his dominant performance this season.

Since joining the Raiders in 2019, Carlson has made 89.3 percent of his kicks. He’s been especially good inside of 40 yards, making 60 of 62 kicks. Going into the playoffs, no team has a better kicker than Carlson and certainly, no one is more proven in clutch situations than the former Auburn Tiger.
