The Raiders had an interesting decision to make entering Week 12. Free-agent prize Cory Littleton was eligible to return to the field after missing the last few weeks under COVID-19 protocols. However, Nicholas Morrow had performed well in his absence.

Given the amount of money the Raiders invested in Littleton, the team had to go back to him, right? Wrong. Morrow stayed in the starting lineup, finishing the game with 77 snaps. Littleton did play some in this game, but it’s clear the Raiders didn’t want to take Morrow off the field.

The Raiders were awarded with that decision as Morrow excelled once again. According to Pro Football Focus, Morrow finished as the team’s highest-graded player in Week 13. His grade of 90.7 not only led the team, but he was the top-rated linebacker in the entire league. His six stops led the team and he didn’t miss a tackle. Morrow was also stellar in coverage, allowing just 11 yards on five targets.

Morrow’s performance in Week 12, albeit in a blowout, was one of the best games by a Raiders’ linebacker in some time. Given how well he has played over the last few months, it’s going to be fascinating to see how the Raiders sort out the snaps from now on between Morrow, Littleton and Nick Kwiatkowski.

It’s worth mentioning that Kwiatkoski is currently the team’s highest-graded defender on the season and has played extremely well over the last few months. He is the one defender the team can ill afford to lose as he’s been by far their best linebacker in coverage.

Keep an eye on how this situation plays out over the final five weeks of the season as the Raiders try to find the right linebacker combination.
