Raiders beat the Broncos again, win 17-16 in Week 1

The Raiders just seem to have a lot of success against the Broncos. They have to lose to the Broncos in the 2020s as they’ve won their last six games against the Broncos. And once again, they got another victory in Denver. The Raiders defeated the Broncos 17-16 in a pretty ugly performance by both sides.

Jimmy Garoppolo had a solid day for the Raiders, throwing for 200 yards and two touchdowns. His 3rd and 7 run under the two-minute warning allowed the Raiders to kneel out the game and get the victory over the Broncos.

The Raiders had multiple mistakes in this game, including a roughing the kicker penalty that led to a field goal for the Broncos. Garoppolo also had a red zone interception as he threw the ball into double coverage.

There also was a penalty by Marcus Peters that negated a fumble by Russell Wilson that was recovered by the Raiders. It certainly looked like a Week 1 game from both sides with a ton of sloppiness and penalties.

The Raiders will take on the Bills in Week 2 in Buffalo. It’s their second consecutive road game, but they do have a slight advantage with the Bills playing on the road on Monday Night Football (Jets).
