It seemed likely that Raheem Morris would land a head coaching job somewhere this offseason after all the interest he received from teams with openings, but his opportunities are quickly drying up. There were eight vacancies and Morris landed second interviews with four of them, but there are just three openings left: the Commanders, Falcons and Seahawks.
Morris interviewed with the Falcons in-person on Tuesday and with the Commanders on Wednesday, and he’ll wrap things up with the Seahawks in Seattle on Friday. After that, we should have a better idea of whether the Rams will retain their defensive coordinator.

The Chargers and Panthers also interviewed Morris but went in a different direction. Carolina is hiring Dave Canales, while the Chargers swung big and hired Jim Harbaugh.
Morris has been the Rams’ leader on defense since the 2021 season, replacing Brandon Staley after he left to become the Chargers’ head coach. Los Angeles would love to keep Morris on Sean McVay’s staff, but McVay and others inside the building have said several times publicly just how deserving Morris is of a head coaching job.
