- French raider Talismanic won the $4 million Turf, giving trainer Andre Fabre a fifth Breeders' Cup triumph. Beach Patrol, trained by Chad Brown, made a strong move on the turn for home, but Talismanic, with jockey Mickael Barzalona aboard, stormed past to win by half a length. It was Fabre's third victory in the 1 1/2 mile Breeders' Cup Turf, which he won with In The Wings in 1990 and Shirocco in 2001. Beach Patrol held on to finish second with Joel Rosario aboard. Highland Reel, winner of the same race for Irish trainer Aidan O'Brien at Santa Anita last year, finished third.
