The Queen’s many Christmas trees are always a display. After all, a simple six foot fir just won’t do for Her Majesty.

And it seems one of the royal’s residences has got in on the action early.

Windsor Castle have already put up their tree, choosing a huge 20 foot Nordmann fir to put up in St George’s Hall.

The tree was sourced from the Queen’s own back garden which is a little better than ours considering it’s Windsor Great Park.

Windsor Castle’s decorations this year have taken on a gold theme with glittering gold pine cones and stars adorning the Christmas tree. A traditional angel provides the finishing touch at the top.

Of course, the Queen doesn’t just have one tree at Windsor. The Crimson Drawing Room also houses a red-themed 15 foot display.

The table in the State Dining Room is also a sight to behold. It has been set with silver gilt pieces from the Grand Service which was commissioned by the Queen’s father, George IV.

The Queen does usually spend time at her Berkshire residence in December but always spends Christmas at her Sandringham estate along with the rest of the royal family.

There, their time is strictly scheduled with everything from Christmas dinner to when they walk the dogs written on a timetable. (Dinner’s only 50 minutes long in case you’re wondering.)

Not sure that sounds like the ideal Christmas, to be honest.
