East St. Louis
East St. Louis (Ill.) senior quarterback recruit Christian Perez (6-foot-2, 185 pounds) has wrapped up his college one day camp tour and is now focused on learning the East St. Louis offense this summer. Perez checks min and recaps his latest recruiting news here.
"I'm all done with the college camps," Perez said. "We've been working hard in team camp and I'm just trying to get better every day. That's my focus these days."
Perez, who transferred to East St. Louis for the spring semester is working hard on becoming a leader for the Flyers offense this summer.
"So far this summer has been going great with my team. We played down in Alabama for a big 7on7 tournament and overall I thought that the team did well. I've been just trying to learn as much as I can from Coach Sunk (Darren Sunkett) and the rest of the coaches. It's been an adjustment for me but I also feel I'm getting better all the time. I've been getting some great coaching and I'm really happy and Coach Sunk has a great football mind. I've also been trying to become more of a vocal leader. It was a little strange at first since I'm one of the newer kids but the team really wants me to be more vocal. They really want me to be a leader and I'm ready to take the lead."
So what's next for Perez and his recruiting process this summer?
"I've been giving it some thought and I could commit pretty soon. I might go take a visit or two once we get a break next week, somewhere around the 4th of July week. I have a pretty good idea of the schools that I really like but I want to see a few more schools in person before I decide anything."
Christian Perez has scholarship offers from Navy, Jackson State, Tennessee-Martin, Indiana State and Southeast Missouri State.
