PSU Recruiting: Nittany Lions add another running back to their talented room

As we get further into the offseason, Penn State has already recruited some notable names to its roster. One position group throughout the 2021 season struggled immensely. In the 2022 season, it was quite the opposite. On top of that, the Nittany Lions aren’t done building up that room either. James Franklin brought in the talented London Montgomery for his 2023 recruiting class.

That’s right, we’re talking about the running back room. Penn State had a talented duo of freshmen this past season with Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen breathing new life into the Penn State running game, and their running back room is only getting stronger.

Penn State has a strong 2023 recruiting class. And they have already started to get some highly recruited names for 2024.

Penn State is losing some key talent on both sides of the ball. However, they had plenty of talented freshmen play this season, especially in key areas.

Let’s take a look at some other key recruits to keep on your radar for Penn State football.

RB Jordan Seaton, Class of 2024 (5 stars)

The first player is the top offensive lineman in the nation in the 2024 class. Jordan Seaton of Washington D.C. has multiple offers around the country from plenty of Power Five schools. Penn State is one of them.

The Nittany Lions five-star offensive lineman from their 2023 class is J’ven Williams. The addition of Seaton would be huge for them. He is certainly a player to keep an eye on in the next year.

CB Ellis Robinson IV, Class of 2024 (5 stars)

The next player is another top player in the 2024 class at his position. That is five-star cornerback Ellis Robinson IV.

He is the number six player in the state of Florida. Penn State has done an impressive job building their secondary. Ji’Ayir Brown and Joey Porter Jr. are a few examples. Now, their new addition, former North Carolina cornerback Storm Duck. Bringing in Robinson IV would be a massive addition for the Nittany Lions. He does currently have a Crystal Ball prediction to Georgia, but it is still fairly early in his recruiting process.

Penn State commit RB David Kency Jr.

The last player recently committed to Penn State. That is Louisiana running back David Kency Jr. In his final season, he rushed for over 1,200 yards and 16 touchdowns. Kency Jr. was also a multi-sport athlete, competing in soccer as well. Just a season ago, the Nittany Lions were struggling in their running back room. Now, they have themselves a talented running back room full of youth. Let’s also not forget about London Montgomery coming in next season as well. The future is bright for Penn State’s running back room.
