Who is The Providence Journal's Girls Basketball Player of the Week? You decide

Plenty of solid performances filled the high school basketball schedule last week, as the regular season is drawing to a close. So who will be this week’s Journal Player of the Week? As always, that’s up to you.

The award is meant to be an interactive way for members of the state’s basketball community to get involved. There’s no prize for winning, other than bragging rights. If you want to win, we encourage getting social media campaigns going so friends, families, fans, classmates and communities can help one of their own.

Voting is open to all readers. You can vote as much as you’d like each day between now and when the polls close on Thursday. The winner will be announced Friday morning.

Think we missed someone? Nominees are selected from the games the Journal covers in person and games that are reported by coaches and posted in our nightly recaps.

Reporting scores on the home team. We ask home team coaches to either call in results at (401) 277-7340 or email a photo of the completed scorebook to PJSports@ProvidenceJournal.com. Results must be sent in by 10 p.m. the night of a game.
