  • Prince William and Kate Middleton’s daughter, Princess Charlotte, loves playing with her toy tiara.

  • She already loves being a royal, a source explains.

At the young age of 5, Princess Charlotte already knows she’s different from the other kids in school. But that’s fine because Prince William and Kate Middleton’s daughter loves her royal status.

“Charlotte knows she’s a princess and already has a toy tiara, which she loves wearing,” a source told Us Weekly. Despite her royal lineage, Prince William and Kate want their children, including sons Prince George and Prince Louis, to have a somewhat normal childhood. According to the insider, they “go out of their way to keep the kids grounded.”

The source adds, “While the kids know there’s something special about them, they’re not spoiled.” In addition to her princess sensibilities, Charlotte also has an adventurous spirit. In school, she has the nickname “Warrior Princess.” Fitting, we know.

“Apparently, she earned that nickname because obviously she is a princess but she is quite a tomboy,” royal expert Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight. “She loves climbing trees and she’s very much an adventurer.”

Since turning 5, she feels much older, a source explained to Us Weekly earlier this year. “She feels so grown up now that she’s 5. She likes to pick out her own outfits with Kate’s help, and if she doesn’t like a dress she’s wearing, she makes her feelings known,” the insider said. “She doesn’t feel intimidated in front of crowds of people, unlike most kids her age.”

Charlotte also loves to be the center of attention, which is good since she’ll be in the spotlight for the rest of her life.
