Prep roundup: Hartselle girls defeat Decatur

Jan. 9—Gracie Hill poured in a game-high 24 points as Hartselle defeated Decatur 61-49 in girls basketball on Tuesday.

Hannah Burks had 14 points for the Tigers, who led 26-22 at halftime. Anna Hampton Burroughs added 11 points.

Amiah Jackson led Decatur with nine points. Kimora Bailey, Jenny Mitchell, Carlee Mitchell and Jadience Smith had eight points each.

East Limestone girls 46, Ardmore 43: Mya Thatch scored a game-high 22 points to lead East Limestone on Tuesday.

Kate Hovis had 12 points for the Indians, while Molly Thompson finished with 13 rebounds and five blocks. Lexi Beddingfield (16) and Lexi Gray (15) each scored in double figures for Ardmore.

Decatur Heritage girls 68, Falkville 47: Leah Pierce (18), Ellie Cate Hill (11) and Abbey Grace Tomlin (10) all scored in double figures for Falkville on Tuesday.

Danville girls 53, Colbert County 47: Adily Alberti had 14 points, five steals and five rebounds to lead Danville on Tuesday.

Reagan Prater had 10 points for the Hawks, while Madalyn McCreless added seven points.

Russellville girls 58, Brewer 52: Khloe Grandstaff led Brewer with 14 points on Tuesday.

Madisyn Freeman scored 12 points for the Patriots, while Bailey Hale added 11 points. Jacey Moore had a game-high 18 points for Russellville and Ella Copeland scored 15 points.

Hartselle boys 53, Decatur 32: Ty Odom had 16 points for Hartselle in a win over rival Decatur on Tuesday.

Rylan Smothers and Markus Tapscott had 11 points each for the Tigers, who led 26-9 at the half. Brayden Walker led Decatur with eight points and Wyatt Smith scored seven points.

Decatur Heritage boys 58, Falkville 54: Brady Wilson scored a game-high 35 points in a close win for Decatur Heritage on Tuesday.

Nash Thomas had 13 points for the Eagles, who rallied from a 29-28 halftime deficit to pick up the win.

Eli Harris led three Falkville players in double figures with 13 points. Dawson Fowler had 12 points for the Blue Devils, while Caden Butler added 10 points.

Danville boys 60, Colbert County 26: AJ Holladay poured in a game-high 29 points for Danville (14-6) on Tuesday.

Ty Bailey had 10 points for the Hawks, while Ki Boyd added eight points. Danville continues play on Friday against Colbert Heights.
