PREP GIRLS BASKETBALL: Covington beats Oakwood at Classic
Nov. 20—FITHIAN — The Covington girls basketball team defeated Oakwood 51-27 at the Comet Classic on Monday.
Alex Sutherlin had 13 points to lead the Trojans, who are 3-0 in the Classic, while Sydni Crain and Halen McBride each had nine points and Lilly Hacquet, Karma Kingery and Peyton Brown each had six points.
Jaydah Arrowsmith had 10 points to lead the Comets, while Mady Nicoson had seven and Nikita Taylor added six.
The Comets will return to action in the tournament on Wednesday with a game against Heritage. The Trojans will await who they will face in Friday's final day.
