Prep Boys Soccer: Jacksonville goes 4-0 to win Longview tourney championship

Jan. 14—LONGVIEW — Jacksonville Tribe Soccer earned a hard fought, 2-1, victory over Nacogdoches Saturday to win first place in the Longview Tournament.

Head coach Rudy jaramillo's Tribe opened tourney play with a 3-0 triumph over Chapel Hill Thursday afternoon and went on to beat Henderson, 5-1, on Friday.

In its final game of pool play Saturday, Jacksonville squeezed out a 1-0 triumph over Lufkin to earn a spot in the finals.

Jacksonville's record now stands 5-2-1 while Nacogdoches is 6-2-1.

The Tribe will host Nacogdoches at 5 p.m. Wednesday at The Historic Tomato Bowl.
