PREP BOYS BASKETBALL: Schlarman falls to Watseka

Jan. 5—DANVILLE — The Schlarman Academy boys basketball team took on Watseka on Friday in Vermilion Valley Conference play.

The Hilltoppers were down 13-7 after the first quarter and could not keep up as the Warriors won 66-53.

Peyton Kuemmerle had 23 points for Schlarman, while Jamarrea McNeal had 12 points and Noah Fowler had 10 and Ricky Soderstrom added six points.

Evan LaBelle had 33 points to lead the Warriors, while Myles Lynch had 13 points.

The Hilltoppers will take on Judah Christian on Monday.
