Prep basketball: Summers, Oak Hill, Meadow Bridge, Victory Baptist girls win; Cavalier boys down Montcalm

Summers County 42, Bluefield 34

hinton — Summers County jumped to a 19-5 lead and went on to defeat Bluefield 42-34.

Grace Harvey scored 13 points and Avery Lilly 11 for the Bobcats.

Cara Brown led Bluefield with 15 and Arionna Dowell had 11.

Meadow Bridge 36, Montcalm 22

montcalm — Kierston Rozell had three of Meadow Bridge's seven 3-pointers and scored 13 points as Meadow Bridge defeated Montcalm 36-22.

Lilly Hayes added nine points for the Wildcats (9-4).

Oak Hill 85, Liberty 12

oak hill — Cara Smith and Danielle Parsons both scored 12 points as Oak Hill rocketed past Liberty.

Jordan Harris added 11 for the Red Devils.

Liberty got five from Kirsten Miller, four from Brooke Brown and three from Rhiley Honaker.

Victory Baptist 71, Ripley Christian 5

Kaydan Mooney scored 17 points as Victory Baptist won its third consecutive game.

Jada O'Neal and Grace Ward both scored 15 for the Saints (6-9). Sydney Thomas had 10 rebounds and nine points, and Abby Day grabbed 13 boards.

Boys

Greenbrier West 73, Montcalm 29

charmco — Braydon McClung nearly matched Montcalm with 27 points in Greenbrier West's 73-29 victory.

Tanner Hagy added 10 points for the Cavaliers.

Donovan Reed led Montcalm with 12 and Justin Pacito had 11.

Boys

Oak Hill 66, Riverside 46

oak hill — Malachi Lewis scored 19 points to lead Oak Hill to 66-46 win over Riverside, evening their record at 5-5.

Trevor Kelly added 18 and Levi Kiszka finished with 16.

It was the fourth straight win for the Red Devils, who will visit Princeton on Friday. It came one night after head coach Benitez Jackson picked up the 100th win of his career.

Bryer Mullins led Riverside with 20 points.

Lewis County 56, Nicholas County 44

weston — Ben Putnam's 22 points led Lewis County to a 56-44 win over Nicholas County.

Manny Robinson added 12 points and Tanner Griffith 11.

Cole Brown scored 12 and Trey Stump 10 for the Grizzlies (6-6).

Girls

Westside 44, Independence 42

clear fork — Westside took a seven-point lead at halftime and held on to defeat Independence 46-44 for its third straight victory.

Karsyn Paynter led the Renegades (6-5) with 16 points. Daisha Cline added 11 and Rylee Brown nine.

Independence (10-2) got 19 points and 10 rebounds from Harmony Mills. Lacey Goodson scored a game-high 21 points.
