Pregnant widow brings husband trick-or-treating despite his death 4 months ago

A mom-to-be used a little dark humor to process her grief this Halloween, and TikTokers are applauding her spirit.

A widow and a mother of 2.5 little ones, @texas_widow91, gained over 3 million views and nearly 4,000 comments when she uploaded footage of her unique costume to TikTok.

Now this mom’s ability to find humor in the face of her sadness is inspiring millions around the world.

According to the mom-to-be, her husband was only 30 when he was killed in a motorcycle accident.

Now, four months after his untimely death, @texas_widow91 is trying to “find some light in the darkness,” as she wrote in the comments section of her now-viral video.

Using the audio from another grieving TikToker with a sense of humor, @tborchardtslayton, the mom revealed her clever Winnie-the-Pooh costume to her followers.

In a behind-the-scenes video of her costume, she wrote, “I definitely wouldnt be who i am today without my soul mate. He may have left me too soon but i know he will always be watching over our little family cheering us on. We love you @daltonc0.”

As @texas_widow91 explained in another comment, she feels her husband would have found her costume hilarious. “I have to be able to laugh to get through this life lol,” she added.

‘This is the dark humor I love’

TikTokers were grateful that she managed to find humor in the face of tragedy. Some even suggested costume ideas that would also involve her husband.

“As a young widow myself, this is the dark humor I love,” one user wrote.

“NEXT YEAR… you be Jack Sparrow & he can be the jar of dirt 🥰,” another user suggested.

“Next year make baby the Genie 🧞‍♂️and dad can be the lamp!” another user wrote.

“The baby can be Cookie Monster and dad can be a cookie jar! 😭,” commented another user.

As @texas_widow91‘s video proves, grief comes in many forms, and everyone works through their emotions differently. As a wise little bear once famously said, “How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”
