An impressive showing against the top team in the country last week brought new life to the Texas football program.
The sold out crowd and intense atmosphere played a key role in Texas nearly upsetting No. 1 Alabama in Week 2. Will Anderson, Alabama’s star pass rusher and likely top overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft, stated it was the hardest place he’s had to play throughout his collegiate career up to this point.
Second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian hopes this is the new standard moving forward. That seems to be the case, as the Texas vs. UTSA matchup on Saturday evening is also sold out.
Texas fans and players are certainly buying in to what Sarkisian is building in Austin. Now, the Longhorns are hoping to show some consistency in their play by defeating an up-and-coming UTSA squad in Week 3.
Here’s a look at the pregame buzz ahead of the Texas-UTSA matchup.

Barring an injury setback, Texas is expected to start Hudson Card at quarterback against UTSA, sources tell @247Sports. Card is dealing with an ankle injury he suffered last week against Alabama.
