ATLANTA- Georgia Tech (2-1) began preparations on Monday for North Carolina (1-3) as the Jackets aim to flip the series after three straight wins by the Tar Heels. Yellow Jacket head coach Paul Johnson says his improved defense will have a tough challenge this week with North Carolina.

"It was a typical Monday back in our routine. A lot of error correction, condition, intro (to UNC) and a lot of special teams," he said.

Tech fumbled five times and lost four against Pittsburgh and that was a focus of Monday's practice. Four of the fumbles came from the B-back position and all of those were lost. Johnson said they need to rotate more behind KirVonte Benson and that Benson and his fellow B-back need to have a better hold on the ball.

"It was a lot of fundamental stuff and we have to do a better job as coaches because it is correctable," Johnson said of the B-back fumbles.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "I think we tackled well on defense. That might be the best game we've tackled since I've been here really," Johnson on his defense's performance against Pitt.
