ATLANTA- After two days off Georgia Tech's football team returned to the practice field on Tuesday afternoon for a quick 75-minute practice and conditioning session with a focus on error correction from the North Carolina game. The Jackets are on a bye this week before hitting the road for the first time this year next week at Miami.
Jackets head coach Paul Johnson said Tuesday's practice was a typical Monday session since the team was off yesterday.
"It was a typical Monday, conditioning and a lot of special teams. We went today and we will go Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we have a weightlifting deal on Friday," he said.
The players get a full weekend off to enjoy the bye after the Friday session.
The players of the week for the UNC game were:
Offense: Kenny Cooper
Defense: A.J. Gray
Special Teams: Pressley Harvin III
QUOTE OF THE DAY: "I think we are playing well, but this is definitely not the best we can play," junior A-back Qua Searcy said. "We are obviously turning the ball over too many times and have had the ball on the ground too many times and we need to finish in the red zone better, but I feel like we have a pep in our step and a chip on our shoulder from losing the first game and we are coming more together (as a team)."
