Power & Light Red Kingdom Block Party: everything you need to know

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – If you can’t watch Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, a watch party planned at Power and Light’s KC Live might be the next best thing.

Other than play on the field, if you think of the Super Bowls LIV in 2020 and LVII in 2023, you probably remember the iconic celebration videos of more than 10,000 fans at Power & Light.

Kansas City stores look to help fans prepare for Super Bowl watch party costs

“For us here, it’s so cool to see something that you’ve worked really hard on as an employee. But on top of that, we really think this represents the city as far as our fan base and enthusiasm for sports in general,” Jason Bradley, Director of Entertainment and Production at Kansas City’s Power and Light District, said.

Now for the fourth time in five seasons the Downtown Kansas City venue is gearing up to host a Super Bowl watch party.

Doors will open at 11 a.m. for the Red Kingdom Block Party and there will be on-stage contests, giveaways and entertainment leading up to kickoff. The event also includes national touring act, Loud Luxury.

“We wanted to increase the entertainment value. We do charge for the block party portion throughout the early portion of the day,” Bradley said.

Admission is $25. But it will cost you significantly more to reserve a table. The approximately 1000 seats at tables are 80 percent full so far. Mostly tables requiring the highest minimum tabs with premium views are still available.

“You take it for granted if you are a Chiefs fan now that we’ve gone so many times, but we are still seeing the same amount of excitement,” Bradley said.

You don’t need a table reservation to get food, however. There will also be food and beer trucks on Grand Avenue. That space on Grand doubles their capacity to more than 10,000.
