Potomac State falls to Dundalk

Jan. 10—KEYSER, W.Va. — WVU Potomac State College struggled to shoot in its first game of 2024, losing 82-68 to visiting CCBC Dundalk on Monday.

The Catamounts (6-7, 3-3 NJCAA Region 20) shot 33% from the field, hitting 24 of 72 shots.

Potomac State went 4 of 22 from 3-point range, only hitting on 18%.

Charles Neverdon led all scorers with 19 points for Dundalk. He also had six rebounds and a block.

Shakur Smith scored 14 points with five rebounds, four assists and two blocks.

Xavier Barrow, Malachi Washington and Hussain Williams each scored 13 points for the Lions.

Williams added four rebounds and two assists while Barrow and Washington each had a pair of rebounds.

Damian Thompson led the Catamounts with 16 points. He also had three assists and a steal.

Rodney Vilsaint scored 14 points with six rebounds and four assists.

Eugene Bryant recorded 16 rebounds for a double-double along with 11 points and five assists.

Daniel Charlot had 10 points with six rebounds and a steal.

Dundalk led 41-28 at halftime and edged Potomac State 41-40 in the second half.

The Lions outscored the Catamounts 46-22 in the paint.

Potomac State hosts Allegheny County on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
