CHRIS HAYNES: I know you're a team oriented guy, but I do have to highlight what you're doing. Averaging 17.5 points a game, shy of, say it, under 18 points. Shooting at 3 at 42%. First of all, you should be in the conversation for most improved. I want to get your thoughts on that.

There's a big event they hold during the All-Star weekend. I mean, you pass the test as far as what you need, 3 pointers attempts, 3 pointers made, and definitely percentage. You passed the eye test as far as what should be required to enter that 3-point contest. Now, Des, I got to ask you, I got to put you on the spot, man.

Do you have any aspirations of participating in that 3-point contest? Do you want to do it? Do you plan to do it?

DESMOND BANE: I plan, if I get invited, I plan to do it and I plan to win it. You know what I'm saying?

CHRIS HAYNES: I like that.

DESMOND BANE: I plan to do it and I plan to win it.

CHRIS HAYNES: That's what's up, man. Got competitiveness in you as well. When you look at, for you, coming out second year player, how meaningful would it be how? Yeah, how meaningful would it be for you to be invited to that event?

DESMOND BANE: I mean, it would be special. Obviously, I came into the league with a reputation as a shooter. To get into the 3-point competition my second year would be a dream come true and a testament to all of my hard work. I want to be considered one of the best shooters in the world and the 3-point competition highlights those guys. So getting invited would obviously be a huge compliment and a huge sign of respect, huge tribute to my hard work and show that everything's trending in the right direction for me and my career.

CHRIS HAYNES: For sure. Have you participated in a 3-point contest at any level?

DESMOND BANE: Yeah, college. I got that championship too, man. I got that one too.

CHRIS HAYNES: I didn't know that. I see I got to do my research. I didn't know that.

DESMOND BANE: Yeah.

CHRIS HAYNES: How different is it picking that ball up from the side and shooting? Is that a different transition?

DESMOND BANE: It is, I mean, but shooters shoot. You know what I'm saying? I mean, the ball, the angle, the rim. You know what I'm saying? Every goal is 10 foot, so shooters shoot.
