Mark your calendars, Timbers fans.

Portland will open the MLS regular season on the road against Cascadia rival Vancouver Whitecaps FC on April 18th at 7:00 p.m. PT. Due to Canadian COVID-19 travel restrictions, the game will be played at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah.

Then, the Timbers will play its home opener on April 24th against Houston Dynamo FC at Providence Park. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT.

Since 2011, Portland is 5-2-3 in its MLS home openers.

Full dates and broadcast details of the 2021 MLS season schedule will be announced in the coming weeks, as per team release.

Those games will not be the first meaningful soccer played by Portland, however. The team's 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League campaign begins with a two-leg, home-and-home series against CD Marathón. First, Portland travels to San Pedro Sula, Honduras on Tuesday, April 6 at 3 p.m. PT before hosting them in Portland on Tuesday, April 13 at 5 p.m. PT.
