With the 37th overall pick of the 2021 NWSL Draft, Portland Thorns FC selected Hannah Betfort, a defender from Wake Forest.

Betfort served as a team captain for the Deacons as a sophomore and junior, earning Third Team All-ACC honors as a senior. 

In 56 career appearances, 50 starts, for Wake Forest, the 5'11" defender has six goals and seven assists while playing on the backline. 

There are some concerns about her athleticism but with proper players around her, she can play good team defense within a scheme. 

Betfort was called up for a USWNT U-18 tournament in 2018: the La Manga 12 Nations tournament in Spain.
