Las Vegas sportscaster Randy Howe has been released from jail on bond after being arrested on charges of masturbating at a local bar, The Las Vegas Sun reports.

Police arrested Howe on Tuesday, responding to a report from an employee at the unnamed bar that a man was masturbating at a slot machine around 9:15 a.m., according to the report.

Howe charged with open gross lewdness

Police told The Sun that they arrested Howe on charges of indecent exposure and open gross lewdness.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that employees at the bar said they had seen Howe masturbate there before. Employees decided not to complain the first time, hoping it was an isolated incident, according to the report.

Howe, who covers sports for KSNV News 3 in Las Vegas, told police that he wasn’t masturbating but was “itching terribly” and scratching himself, according to the report.

Police: Howe walked around with exposed penis

When police arrived at the bar, an employee told them that Howe had walked to the bathroom with his penis exposed, according to the report. Surveillance video showed that Howe unzipped his pants and fondled himself, according to the report.

Howe told police that he “probably shouldn’t have been scratching himself at the bar and that it was a bad decision,” according to the report.

Howe was not drinking alcohol, according to the report.

KSNV general manager Larry Strumwasser told The Review-Journal that the station was looking into the charges.

“We are obviously very concerned about the seriousness of these charges,” Strumwasser said. “We are investigating everything.”
