The New England Patriots like to beat teams by infusing a healthy dosage of running the football into their game plan. That — and defensive turnovers — are the common theme throughout the team’s seven-game win streak.

The Patriots have managed to win games in a variety of ways. But they haven’t really beaten teams strictly by passing the football. Even when Mac Jones threw for a career-high 310 passing yards in a win over the Titans, the passing game was a product of the running game.

The Colts seem to want to force the Patriots to rely upon Jones in a way that they have yet to do. So that should be fascinating for New England, if the Colts can shut down the Patriots’ run game in Week 15. Will the Patriots live and die by the run? Or will they show the NFL they can win in another way: with Jones taking center stage?
