Pochettino on injuries, Lavia and run-in

Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the media before Chelsea's Premier League game against Burnley on Saturday.

Here are the key lines from the Chelsea manager:

  • Ben Chilwell might not be available after he got a "knock to the leg" on duty with England.

  • He said Cole Palmer "is a little bit disappointed" he did not get any game time with England - although he was not fit for the first game against Brazil.

  • On Saturday's opponents Burnley, he said: "It's going to be difficult. They are a team that play with freedom and are very physical. You can see the potential of their team."

  • He said it is time "to move on" from talking about the criticism Raheem Sterling has faced, and added "we know fans love our players and I know they will support him and the rest of the team".

  • On his expectations for the run-in, he added: "We have to try and get the best balance [in the team] and finish fighting. We need to follow through with our game plan for every single game. It is always about winning the next game."

  • He said Romeo Lavia "will come back stronger" from his injury but that "it is sad" the midfielder has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

  • Pochettino expanded on Lavia's unfortunate start to life at Chelsea by adding: "Of course he's not happy because he has only played 30 minutes as a new player for the club. It's a shame but sometimes these things happen in football."

  • Defender Trevoh Chalobah has returned to partial team training.
