FFL Flash Alert - Will Mark Ingram rush over 44.5 yards against the Eagles?
While the Lakers should be dealing with parade logistics and texting each other hangover cures as they celebrate title No. 17, the reality of the NBA offseason comes fast. With Rajon Rondo and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope expected to exercise their player options and become free-agents this summer (Avery Bradley and JaVale McGee can join them), the Lakers need to look at their roster around LeBron James and Anthony Davis (AD will opt out but he's not going anywhere). Los Angeles has just two rotation players under age 26 (Kyle Kuzma and Alex Caruso), and it needs more shooting and playmaking.
The players were asked to assess the state of their alma mater's football program in Year 6 of Jim Harbaugh's tenure as coach. As Michigan approaches the 2020 season, the tradition-rich program confronts an uncomfortable reality that it has stagnated under the leadership of a man who was expected to restore the Wolverines as a top-tier program. Since Harbaugh arrived with considerable fanfare in December 2014, Michigan has never competed for the Big Ten title in Indianapolis.
Rest assured, they will, but it will be the only significant expenditure they make on a player in a winter where, like almost every other team in baseball, they will be otherwise looking to cut payroll. By not bringing back Masahiro Tanaka, J.A. Happ and James Paxton, that's about $52 million alone. Here's the bottom line on what this season without fans has wrought on baseball: Every team in baseball has lost a minimum of $100 million — the larger market teams like the Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies, between $175 and $200 million.
Ozuna left early on what would have been a sacrifice fly with his team leading in the third inning, and the game soon turned in Los Angeles' favor as the Dodgers stayed alive in the NL Championship Series with a 7-3 victory in Game 5 on Friday night. The Braves still have a 3-2 series lead after a bullpen game that started well but went awry, with their top two starters lined up for the final two games. Left-hander Max Fried pitches for the NL East champions on Saturday.
Tyrrell Hatton is the gift that keeps on giving all year long. For example, way back in March before the PGA Tour's 13-week COVID-19 hiatus, Hatton hilariously blew up on the 11th hole at Bay Hill on Sunday of the Arnold Palmer Invitational with an outburst Happy Gilmore would've certainly applauded. After making a double bogey, Hatton used his putter as a pretend gun, fired off a pretend shot at the pond that consumed his drive, then flipped it off for good measure.
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James didn't take a lengthy break after winning the NBA Finals. Less than a week after beating the Miami Heat in Game 6, James was back in the gym. James, 35, even showed off his new workout partner, his daughter Zhuri.
To keep his perfect resume on the PGA Tour Champions intact, Phil Mickelson will have to leapfrog another former Masters champ on Sunday and then hold off the rest of the field at the Dominion Energy Charity Classic in Richmond, Virginia. Earlier in the day, Mickelson carded a 68 as Friday's wet weather forced players into a Saturday marathon. While Mickelson played well, he didn't play as well as 2003 Masters champ Mike Weir, who equaled Mickelson's early round, but then fired a 63 in the afternoon to take a three-stroke lead into Sunday's final round.
This week Henry gets a home matchup versus a Texans defense that's allowed the most rushing yards to running backs this season, and it's only a matter of time before he has a monster game. Washington Football Team @ New York Giants Start: Logan Thomas Sit: Daniel Jones Thomas has disappointed when given opportunities this year, but Kyle Allen should provide a much-needed upgrade at quarterback. The Giants defend the run well, and James Bradberry will shadow Terry McLaurin, so Logan should be busy Sunday.
Tony Gonsolin stepped off the Dodgers' team bus Saturday wearing a T-shirt featuring “PAWS” in big, bold letters, a parody of “Jaws,” the legendary shark-attack thriller. “It's a pretty nice shirt,” Gonsolin said. The Dodgers' second and third batters of the game, Corey Seager and Justin Turner, hit back-to-back home runs, putting the team ahead to stay in a 3-1 victory and forcing a decisive Game 7 of the National League Championship Series on Sunday.
What a difference a few weeks makes for Florida State. On Oct. 3, the Seminoles were coming off an embarrassing 52-10 loss to rival Miami and fell behind Jacksonville State, an FCS team, 14-0. FSU would come back to beat Jacksonville State that day and give Notre Dame a bit of a scare in South Bend a week later.
Veteran ESPN NFL reporter Vaughn McClure has been found dead at his apartment in Atlanta at the age of 48. No cause of death has yet been announced for McClure, who covered the Atlanta Falcons for ESPN's NFL Nation section. The broadcaster, who was born in Chicago, was a regular contributor to ESPN's coverage of the Falcons on TV and radio, and covered the team's Super Bowl LI run in 2017, where they lost to the New England Patriots.
Johnson is sticking by his retirement plans through the pandemic year that included a positive COVID-19 test, missed race and mostly fanless events. Johnson's exit from Hendrick Motorsports will be timed with the promotion of his longtime crew chief Chad Knaus, who will transition to the role of vice president of competition for the company after the season. Knaus, who is the crew chief for the No. 24 car after 17 seasons and seven championships with Johnson and the No. 48 team, said the next move was something he'd considered for a long time.
The Kansas City Chiefs activated Le'Veon Bell on Saturday and gave the running back the No. 26 Damien Williams had been wearing for the previous two seasons before opting-out of 2020 to help his mom who is battling cancer. The Chiefs had announced they totally supported Williams when he made his decision in July. Williams wore No. 26 for both his seasons as a Chief.
NASCAR's Cup season is down to eight drivers and four races, and a win this Sunday at Kansas Speedway could be pivotal for any of the remaining playoff contenders. Twice in the last four seasons, the winner of the first race in the Round of 8 also won the championship race. I don't think it's a complete coincidence,” Brad Keselowski said.
When it comes to boxing records, it doesn't get much more dominant than Edgar Berlanga right now. The Puerto Rican 23-year-old scored a first-round TKO against Lanell Bellows to open Saturday's Top Rank card. It was Berlanga's 15th straight first-round knockout to improve his career record to 15-0.
SportsPulse: Lorenzo is on a roll, like a Derrick Henry stiff arm kind of roll. He provides his three best bets for Week 6 in the NFL.
Willie Allen's nomadic college career has featured many twists and turns. The latest came Thursday, when the offensive tackle made a surprising revelation and announced his commitment to Michigan nine days before the Wolverines play their first game. On Friday, a source inside the Michigan football program said Allen, who left Louisiana Tech and entered the NCAA transfer portal Monday, won't suit up this fall after he already declared his intention to skip the season.
Mike Weber was a Kansas City Chiefs running back for a minute in their Super Bowl season. The former Ohio State star is putting his Super Bowl ring up for auction not long after he and his teammates received it. Manufactured by Jostens, this exquisite 10 karat gold ring was presented to running back Mike Weber, who was signed to the Chiefs' practice squad in January of 2020 after being released by the Dallas Cowboys.

The Ravens will look to counter with Mark Ingram, JK Dobbins, and quarterback Lamar Jackson as a runner.
Andy Dalton has never passed for more than 4,293 yards in a season, but he also hasn't had the weapons the Cowboys have. He has started 133 career games, winning 70 of those, and has more experience than Prescott. Prescott had started 69 games in a row, with now offensive coordinator Kellen Moore the last quarterback not named Dak Prescott to start at quarterback in a game for the Cowboys.
