Player grades: Undermanned Sixers come up short vs. Hawks, drop 3rd straight

The Philadelphia 76ers paid a visit to the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday looking to end a 2-game losing skid. Coach Nick Nurse was not happy with the team’s effort over the previous two games and made it known that it would not be accepted despite any injuries they’ve sustained.

The Sixers were short-handed again on Wednesday with Joel Embiid out for his second straight game due to left knee swelling. Philadelphia was unable to overcome the absence of the reigning league MVP in a 139-132 overtime loss to the Hawks on the road for their third consecutive loss.

Tobias Harris had 30 points and 10 rebounds, Tyrese Maxey had 35, eight rebounds, and nine assists as well as four steals before fouling out, Marcus Morris Sr. added 17 points off the bench, and Paul Reed had nine and nine rebounds. De’Anthony Melton also added 10 points in his return to the floor.
