JuJu Smith-Schuster's season is over.

The Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver underwent surgery on his right shoulder Sunday night and will miss the remainder of the year, NFL Network reported on Monday.

In the second quarter against the Denver Broncos, Smith-Schuster took an end-around for a 3-yard gain. Broncos safety Kareem Jackson went low to tackle him and Smith-Schuster lowered his right shoulder for impact. He was taken to the hospital where the diagnosis warranted surgery.

The Steelers went on to win 27-19.

Smith-Schuster was on a one-year, $8 million contract with the Steelers, who selected the USC product in the second round of the 2017 draft. His most productive season as a pro came in 2018. The 24-year-old made his lone Pro Bowl and set career highs in catches (111) and receiving yards (1,426). He found the end zone nine times last year in his second-best statistical season (97 receptions, 831 yards).
