'Veronica Mars': Where Are They Now?

The "Veronica Mars" movie is getting made, thanks to the generosity of fans, who pitched in over $2 million on Kickstarter to fund the movie. Creator Rob Thomas has the money, but now comes the hard part: scheduling.

As he acknowledges on the Kickstarter page, "One of our biggest challenges is coordinating schedules. We only have a few weeks to shoot and most of our cast members have additional obligations." Thomas hopes to include as many of the characters from the series as possible, but he can't make any promises.

The most important actor, of course, is Kristen Bell, who plays the titular character. She's definitely on board -- you must have Veronica Mars for a "Veronica Mars" movie -- but what about the others? Let's check in to see what everybody's been up to and what their availability might be this summer, when Thomas plans to film the movie. — Kelly Woo, Yahoo! TV

Kristen Bell

Kristen Bell
Played: Snarky sleuth Veronica Mars
Availability: Yes, otherwise, there's no point

As we said, Bell is the crucial element to the movie, so the shoot will revolve around her schedule. The pregnant star is due to give birth this spring, and then she'll have some time before production gets under way for the third season of her Showtime series, "House of Lies." Otherwise, her other project this year, Disney's animated "Frozen," requires only voice work.

Enrico Colantoni

Enrico Colantoni
Played:
Coolest dad in the world, Keith Mars
Availability: Very likely

After "Veronica Mars" ended, Colantoni starred in five seasons of the Canadian cop drama "Flashpoint," which aired its season finale in December. This year, he also made some recurring guest appearances on CBS's "Person of Interest," and he's set to star in a TNT pilot this spring opposite Geena Davis.

Jason Dohring

Jason Dohring
Played:
Veronica's bad boyfriend, Logan Echolls
Availability: Very likely

Dohring went from one cult favorite to another, the short-lived vampire drama "Moonlight." Since then, he's done numerous guest spots, including an arc as a devious teacher on last year's "Ringer." Dohring also appeared in the teaser video featured on the "Veronica Mars" Kickstarter page, so it's safe to say he's open to reprising the role of Logan.

Ryan Hansen

Ryan Hansen
Played:
Dick Casablancas, a bully and jerk who was Logan's friend
Availability: Likely

Hansen's been making the comedy rounds these past few years, first starring in Starz's "Party Down" and then appearing in "Friends with Benefits," "Happy Endings," "The League," "2 Broke Girls," and "Burning Love 2" (Yahoo! Screen's "Bachelor" parody). He's set to star in a pilot, "Bad Teacher," based on the 2011 Cameron Diaz movie. Hansen also participated in the Kickstarter video.

Teddy Dunn

Teddy Dunn
Played:
Duncan Kane, Veronica's ex-boyfriend
Availability: Likely

Dunn's kept fairly quiet since "Veronica Mars," logging appearances in movies like "Jumper" and "A Good Funeral."

Percy Daggs III

Percy Daggs III
Played:
Wallace Fennel, Veronica's best friend
Availability: Very likely

Since the show ended, Daggs has done guest spots on "In Plain Sight," "Raising the Bar," and "Southland," as well as acting in indie movies.

Francis Capra

Francis Capra
Played:
Veronica's often-in-trouble biker friend, Weevil
Availability: Very likely

Capra's been all over the television landscape after "Veronica Mars." He's been in "Heroes," "Friday Night Lights," "Castle," "NCIS," "Sons of Anarchy," "Blue Bloods," and "Bones."

Ken Marino

Ken Marino
Played:
Keith's rival investigator, Vinnie Van Lowe
Availability: Somewhat likely

Marino has become a comedy go-to player. After "Veronica Mars," he starred in the acclaimed "Party Down" and "Children's Hospital." He is currently producing the second season of Yahoo! Screen's "Burning Love" (he starred in the first installment). He's also a busy screenwriter and penned the Jennifer Aniston movie "Wanderlust" last year.

Tina Majorino

Tina Majorino
Played:
Veronica's hacker college friend, Mac
Availability: Not likely

Nobody has been busier than Majorino, whose resumé is crammed with appearances on "Grey's Anatomy," "True Blood," "Bones," and "Big Love." It's also unclear if we'll see any of Veronica's college crowd, if the movie focuses on her high school reunion.

Amanda Seyfried

Amanda Seyfried
Played:
Lilly Kane, Veronica's dead best friend
Availability: Highly unlikely

While Lilly is dead, it could be possible for Veronica to have a flashback or dream. But it seems nearly impossible that the busy Seyfriend would have time to film the cameo. She's starred in a steady stream of movies like "Dear John," "Mamma Mia!," and the Oscar-nominated "Les Misérables." And her upcoming slate looks even fuller.
