Jammin Global - Man and Motorbike Travel the World

In March 2010, Jay Kannaiyan and sanDRina, his beloved Suzuki DR650, left on a great journey. Jay quit his secure corporate job, sold his Chicago townhouse and every household possession, and left with sanDRina on a big bike ride that saw them through 100,000 km, 32 countries, and nearly 1,200 days on the road. At the core of the three-year motorcycle journey through the Global South -- from the USA through Latin America and Africa, and finally India -- was Jay’s desire to raise awareness about sustainability and a unique sentiment best described by an archaic Greek term, eudaimonia – the search for things that are true, good and beautiful.

These photographs by JAY KANNAIYAN offer a breezy summary of some moments from that trip. For a comprehensive account, visit JamminGlobal.com

Jammin thru India, Jay and sanDRina's journey from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, was covered exclusively on Yahoo! India Travel. The journey began on April 30 in Chennai. En route to Delhi, his final stop, Jay rode sanDRina through Kodaikanal, Madurai, Kanyakumari, Kerala, coastal Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra. From Mumbai, he headed towards central India and made his journey north through Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh to Kashmir and then returned via Chandigarh to New Delhi. That's 12 Indian states covered in 42 days.
