Celebrity charity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe

The American Century Championship attracts big names every year. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been a participant since 2005. Find out who else is playing as we update the photos throughout the weekend. The tournament will continue through Sunday, July 21.

Answering questions at a press conference, he commented on how long it would take him to traverse Lake Tahoe. “Six hours. I’m not very fast anymore. I don’t swim anymore,” Phelps quipped. Phelps, who estimates his golf handicap to be 18 or 19, has participated in several pro-am golf tournaments since appearing on The Haney Project on the Golf Channel. On his golf game before getting help from Hank Haney, Tiger Woods’ former swing coach: “I was terrible, like the worst,” Phelps said lightheartedly. “I don't understand how it can be that hard to hit this little tiny white ball and hit it straight every time,” Phelps added. “It just doesn’t happen for me.” The tournament will be televised live on NBC Sports Network Friday and NBC Saturday and Sunday.
