Beached elephant seal in Vancouver

A young elephant seal beached itself on Vancouver's Ambleside beach around the first week of May. According to recent reports, the seal does not appear to be injured and is still there as sheds its fur in a catastrophic molt, a natural annual process that takes about 25 days.
