Intex is not the most popular mobile brand out there even though it is popular otherwise and therefore this product doesn't get the same kind of limelight as a Karbonn or Micromax. Never the less it is the second most cheapest quad core phone and gets the same specs as some of the costlier phones. Karbonn has not mentioned the RAM and the display resolution is on the lower side for a quad core phone, but it is the cheapest 5 inch quad core phone. Karbonn Titanium S5 Price: Rs 11,900 Karbonn Titanium S5 is a dual-SIM Android Jelly Bean phone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core 1.2GHz processor and 1GB RAM. The 5 inch display gets 960 x 540 resolution which is not the highest in the segment but decent. The phone has 8 megapixel autofocus rear camera, while a 2MP camera is given on front side for video chat. The display resolution is not the best in Titanium S5 but is within acceptable limits. Also, Qualcomm chipset used in the phone is also not as fast as the Mediatek chipset common in this range as per the benchmark scores. Zen Ultrafone 701HD Price: Rs 11,999 Zen Ultrafone 701HD is Android 4.2 Jelly Bean based which is the latest Android version and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor. While Zen is a lesser known brand, the phone itself is one of the best equipped handsets out there with latest Android version and camera specs are also better than the rest. Only negative point is probably the brand that it comes from. UMI S1 Price: Rs 11,999 UMI S1 is the latest product from UMI which has so far impressed us with its product quality. The phone is based on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system and has a 5 inch display with 1280x720p resolution. The phone uses Mediatek MT6589 chipset with 1.2 GHz quad core processor and 1 GB RAM. Apart from the availability issues and lack of good battery backup, the phone is a good combination of features and price with latest Android version and ample storage. Along with Celkon 119Q Signature HD company is also offering a free flip cover. The phone will compete with Micromax Canvas HD A116 and beats it in terms of price, camera resolution and Android version, rest of the specification are same. Celkon is a well known brand, and we have tested the dual core version of the phone too, and we found it has one of the best smartphone camera's from an Indian brands and rest of the specifications are the same as that of the Micromax Canvas HD. Combined with attractive price this phone looks like the best product in terms of specs, brand, price and quality. It has an 8 megapixel autofocus camera with backside illumination CMOS sensor for better low light photography at the back and a 1.2 megapixel camera in the front. While the phone sounds like the same as Karbonn Titanium S1, it gets better camera, battery life and beefed up 3G speeds. Moreover Xolo has traditionally offered better quality than its Indian rivals. However still you have better products with larger display and better camera in the phones like Zopo and Celkon and therefore this phone makes sense only for those looking for a smaller display. The Gpad G2 also features Yamaha branded audio hardware that is known for its superior audio delivery. Cons are that it is coming from a relatively unknown brand and with only slightly larger display means that it is not something that looks very attractive. UMI X2 Price Rs 14,000 UMI X2 is based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system but the company has promised to upgrade it to Android 4.2 in April. The phone has high end features such as a 5 inch IPS panel display with full HD (1920x 1080) pixels) resolution. The phone gets the best specification in terms of every aspect be it display, memory, RAM, camera and battery. We have used UMI phones earlier and quality is not an issue that we faced. Only issues is mass availability. Micromax Canvas HD A116 Price Rs 14,499 The Micromax Canvas HD has a 1.2 GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system and 1 GB of RAM. There is 4 GB of internal storage in the phone which can be expanded to up to 32 through a micro SD card. Moreover, it supports 3G, WiFi 802.11 (b/g/n), Bluetooth, and GPS/A-GPS. Further is a 2000 mAh battery. Micromax looks like over priced given that there are phones with better specification at much lesser price from companies that are similar in size like the Celkon and Karbonn. However being the pioneers of this segment in India Micromax Canvas HD is the most popular quad core phone till now. Spice Pinnacle Pro Mi 535 Price: Rs 14,490 Spice Stellar Pinnacle Pro comes with a 5.3 inch display with qHD (960 x 540) resolution. The smartphone has Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Operating system for maximum application compatibility. It comes with a new improved wide angle 5 megapixel front camera, making it the best front camera among low cost smartphones as of now. Spice Stellar Pinnacle Pro Mi-535 also boasts an 8 megapixel autofocus rear camera with dual-LED flash. The Android smartphone has 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and a micro USB port for connectivity. It has also a Li-Polymer battery with 2550 mAh rating that claims to provide over four hours of talk time. Another unique thing with this phone is that both the SIM cards will support 3G connectivity which is not the case with most dual SIM phones. This phone has its share of good things like the front camera, large display, latest Android version. It does however battery backup claim is a low 4 hours despite having a large battery and other specs are similar to other phones here. We have used Pinnacle (the dual core version) and that is impressive with its display and battery life and therefore we inclined to believe that this phone too will not disappoint. Gionee Dream D1 Price: Rs 16,500 Gionee Dream D1 is just 8.6 mm thick and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core processor. It has a 4.65 inch HD Super Amoled Plus display, which comes with a scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating. The display of Dream D1 has 316 ppi screen resolution. The Android OS v4.1 Jelly Bean based smartphone has an 8 megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash. Gionee Dream D1 has a 1 megapixel front facing camera as well. The dual SIM, dual standby Dream-D1 is powered by a 2100 mAh battery and will be available in graphite black colour. It comes bundled with a 16 GB memory card along with 4 GB in-built memory. The phone gets one of the best displays with Super Amoled technology being used, it is slim and fast with good build quality. But comes from a very new brand with sketchy availability (and service backup can also be an issue). Samsung Galaxy Win Price: Rs 17,900 Samsung's entry level quad core smartphone, called Galaxy Win Duos, is now available in the market. The dual SIM phone is based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. The Samsung Galaxy Win features a quad core 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A7 mobile processor, 8 GB internal memory and 1 GB RAM. The phone has a 4.7 inch display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution as the Galaxy Grand. Samsung Galaxy Win Duos has a 0.3 megapixel camera in the front and 5 megapixel camera at the back. It has a 2000 mAh battery to make it run longer. This smartphone appears to be a cheaper version of the Galaxy S III smartphone. The phone is based on Qualcomm MSM8625Q Snapdragon 200 chipset with Adreno 203 GPU, which is slower than Mediatek chipset used in most phones here according to benchmarks. The biggest plus point for this phone is that it comes from Samsung and therefore we expect a better user interface than the rest and also better integration and quality. However in terms of performance there are many phones here that will beat the phone. In terms of display also there are better phones in this list.
