Jan. 10—DICKINSON — The Dickinson Midgets continued their winning streak this week, securing victories against both Mandan and Watford City during their hosted triangular event. They dominated Watford City with a score of 63-6, demonstrating their prowess in takedowns and quick pins, with notable wins by fall from Gage Glaser, Ethan Halverson, Joseph Moreno, Malachai Medina, and Aidan Dahmus.

In addition, the Dickinson Midgets girls participated in an exhibition match, where freshman Caiomhe Doyle secured a pin after a competitive back-and-forth takedown exchange against a Watford City wrestler.

Following the exhibition and JV matches, Dickinson emerged victorious over Mandan with a score of 52-15.

Their upcoming competition will be at the Cowboy Invite in Miles City, Montana, scheduled for January 12-13, featuring nearly 30 participating teams.

Senior co-captain Aidan Dahmus expressed optimism about the team's performance, citing their strong start to the season, with a fifth-place team finish at the Rotary tournament. He looks forward to the remainder of the season, emphasizing their hard work and dedication on the mat.

"We just go out there and compete and wrestle hard and hopefully our wrestling shows how much we have been working this year," Dahmus said. "We started off the season really well, we just came back from Rotary, placed fifth as a team, which I think that's the highest we have ever placed. Our duals are looking really good, so I am looking forward to the rest of the season."
