Phone folly: Utah's Hood knocks away fan's cell

Utah Jazz guard Rodney Hood didn't register a blocked shot Wednesday night, but he did swat a fan's cell phone after being ejected from the game.

Late in the third quarter of the Jazz's game at Washington, Hood was tossed when he argued with a referee and was assessed his second technical foul of the night. He slapped hands with teammates along the Jazz bench as he headed toward the tunnel.

He then walked past a spectator who appeared to be either shooting a video of Hood or taking a picture of him. Hood knocked the phone from the fans' hand, a move that likely will result in a fine from the NBA based on precedent from other similar fan-player interactions.

Hood ended the night with seven points and six rebounds in 15 minutes. When he was ejected, the game was tied 74-74. Bradley Beal made the technical free throw to put the Wizards on top, but Utah scored the next nine points, then didn't trail again until 2:31 remained in the fourth quarter.

The Jazz eventually edged the Wizards 107-104.
