Phillies get their top defensive infielder back from injured list originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia

While Bryce Harper remains out with a blister on his left hand that became infected, the Phillies got their top defensive infielder, Johan Camargo, back from the injured list in time for Tuesday's series opener in Texas against the Rangers.

Camargo, who missed 14 games with a right knee strain, got the start at third base.

The Phillies went 11-3 in those games and one of the many reasons why is that they had other infielders step up to help weather the injuries to Jean Segura, Camargo and Nick Maton.

Bryson Stott hit .308 with a double, three homers and eight RBI in the week after Camargo's injury. Yairo Munoz, called up last week, homered twice and started at second base in three wins.

Camargo's return is welcomed for his versatility. The switch-hitter has batted .246/.310/.338 with three doubles, three homers and 15 RBI in 143 plate appearances, appearing at every infield position. He's started 18 games at shortstop, eight at third base, five at second and two at first.

His presence gives the Phillies some more late-game flexibility with defensive replacements. The Phils are now carrying six infielders in Rhys Hoskins, Camargo, Stott, Alec Bohm, Didi Gregorius and Munoz.

Here was the Phils' lineup for the first of their two-game series in Texas against lefty Martín Perez:

1. Kyle Schwarber, LF

2. Rhys Hoskins, 1B

3. Nick Castellanos, RF

4. J.T. Realmuto, C

5. Didi Gregorius, SS

6. Alec Bohm, DH

7. Matt Vierling, CF

8. Johan Camargo, 3B

9. Yairo Munoz, 2B

Kyle Gibson, SP
