Philadelphia 76ers provide latest update on forward Kelly Oubre Jr.

The Philadelphia 76ers are dealing with the horrific news of Kelly Oubre Jr. being struck by a vehicle on Saturday night and they must now do their best to support him and help him with his recovery.

Oubre Jr. was struck near his residence in Center City and was hospitalized for his injuries while President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey and others joined him there to check up on him. Local authorities investigated the incident and he was later released from the hospital that same night.

The Sixers provided an update on Sunday that Oubre Jr. suffered a fractured rib. He will be out and re-evaluated in one week.

Oubre Jr. has been playing terrific basketball to begin the season. He’s averaging 16.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, shooting 50% from the floor, and he has been a helpful defender while stepping in as a starter after the team traded PJ Tucker. The Sixers will continue to support him through his recovery.
